The Finnish Whippet Club's Speciality and Open Show June -17

It was THE big whippet weekend of the year again at beautiful Mustiala venue, two days , lots of whippets and friends :) .
This year I had two of my boys - Leevi and Bentley entered both days. And what made me specially happy was to see all puppies, age of 5,5 months,  from latest litter (P), on Saturday three of them and on Sunday all six. Thank you so much all the owners for participation !!

On Saturdays Speciality (127 whippets) our judges were :
Espen Engh, Norway (Jet's) puppies+males, Arnaldo Cotugno, Italy (Sobresalto) bitches.
On Sundays Open Show (80+ whippets) : Puppies and males Arnaldo Cotugno.

News from Japan

Yesterday in Osaka Show " Aston" Brookway Custom Made Aston took his second Japanese CC and first major-CC!  Aston is now half way to his Japan Champion title :)
This time the judge was Deborah Harding from Australia.

Way to go Salla and Aston, keep the Finnish flag flying!!

Kando is visiting Iceland under loving care of  Gunnur Sif Sigurgeirsdóttir (Leifturs whippets).
While his stay Kando has gain Iceland Champion title, two Cacibs and Crufts qualification.

Big in Japan

With mixed emotions we said goodbye to Salla Hukari, Aston (Brookway Custom Made Aston out of C.I.B Sobers Lucifer x Ch Silentkaze Endlessentertainment) and Aston's grandmum Nala (Ch Plaudite Rare Antiquelove) when they left to their new home, all the way to Japan, last week.
Sad because I will miss my dear friend and our long walks and to miss seeing Aston's growth to his full "malehood", the sweetest and only boy from my last litter.
But at the same time I'm happy Salla's dream came true, they attend to come true if you belive in your dreams hard enough!!

Aston had  time to make a wonderful start in showrings here in Finland! He was shown 12 times in junior class with the results:

Current 4. place in Whippet show male of the Year competition

Aston's last show was in World Dog Show Helsinki, 4th placement with ccq in big and strong junior class (21)!!

We had quite nice weekend on Helsinki Int.Show 10.5. and Hamina Int. 11.5.-14.

In Helsinki our judge was Frank Kane from UK. Entry of 43 whippets.

"Aston" Brookway Custom Made Aston was shown first time in junior class. He won the class, end up BOB-junior and took his first CAC.
Aston's sister "Taiga" Brookway Century Fox Girl, also shown first time in junior class, she went 2nd in class with excellent.

"Bentley" Ch Brookway Academy Choice won the champion class, went Best Male-1 and end up BOS with Cacib!

Bentley's critique from Frank Kane:
"2 years. Excellent breed type with good lenght and good definition over the loin. Excellent head, eye and ear. Excellent stride and holds his topline well. Excellent quality all through."

Aston's critique from Frank Kane:
"9 months. Brindle, excellent breed quality. Covers a lot of ground, with clean neck. Good topline with rise of the loin, excellent ribs for his age. Good rear angulations. Excellent stride and very good coming and going."

Aston and Taiga were presented next day in Hamina also. Judge was Sofie Lönn, Sweden.

Aston won the junior class again, went Best Male-3 with res-CAC.
Taiga won the junior class too with grade excellent.
Their mother "Kiwie" Ch Silentkaze Endlessentertainment went Best Bitch-2 with res-Cacib.

What a great weekend, I'm very happy!!

New champion

My sweet young "bearboy" Bentley - Brookway Academy Choice gain his Finnish Champion title in Lahti Int show on 26.4. being BM-2 with res-cacib. Judge was Maija Sylgrén from Finland.

Bentley is the second champion from my first litter -A, and they just turned two years old (required minimum age for Ch title in Finland) on March.

Bentley's brother Kando - Brookway Applause Premiere who lives in Poland in kennel Tylko Ty,  is Polish Ch and Polish Junior Ch. Now Kando is staying in Iceland with kennel Leifturs for a while, can't wait what Kando achieves there :)

Naturally I'm very proud of these boys and the whole litter!

At the same Lahti show young lady "Taiga" Brookway Century Fox Girl was BOS-puppy!

The Finnish Whippet Club  held again great unofficial Open Show in Klaukkala on 9.2., with a big entry, over 90 adults and 26 puppies.
Our "team" gain some very pleasing results :)

Puppies were judged by Pirjo Jutila (Plaudite), Finland

Whole A-litter (Ch Sobers Lucifer x Ch Silentkaze Endlessentertainment) was presented in class 6-9 months old puppies. In results HP stands for Honours Prize.

His granddad "Leevi" Best-Looking Brooklyn (Ch Twyborn Philadelphia x  Best-Looking Blooming Martha) was 3rd in champion class with HP.

In bitches:
"Maisa" Brookway Actress Dress won intermediate class with HP, went Best Bitch-2 and BIS-Intermediate

"Wanda" Tylko Ty Whitingly White Cloud (Ch Shamasan Happy New Year x Tylko Ty Viking's Love) won open class with HP, went Best Bitch-3 and BIS-Open.
Wanda also won the best female head and expression competition.

"Kiwie" Silentkaze Endlessentertainment (Ch Best-Looking Brooklyn x Ch Plaudite Rare Antiquelove) was 3rd in champion class with HP.

And finally at the end of the day kennel Brookway was BIS-Breeder!

Nice results again for "Aston" Brookway Custom Made Aston (Ch Sobers Lucifer x Ch Silentkaze Endlessentertainment) from Lahti all breed Puppy Show last weekend.

Judge Maija Sylgren (Finland) chose him BOB and in group finals Aston was placed BIG-2 by the same judge.
